FORMAT
The documentary will be modeled after the popular A&E specials
and Discovery Channel documentary series: stylized graphics and
computer animation will open and close the program and provide
segment transitions. Off-camera narration and on-camera interviews
will tell the story. Historical recordings of the Exposition Organ
will provide much of the music.
The story will be told in two parts. The first part will chronicle
the organ's celebrated historical beginnings and turbulent thereafter.
This part of the story will be visualized through archival photographs
and motion picture footage, blueprints, models, and on-camera
interviews with individuals connected with the organ's past.
The first part of the documentary leads the audience to present
day San Francisco. Moving into a here-and-now perspective, the
remainder of the program will document the Embarcadero Music Concourse
and Exposition Organ project through its completion and dedication.
This part of the story will be visualized by construction-site
time-lapse photography, newly shot video and additional on-camera
interviews.
